Babysole...I'm Still Here.

Send For Me...

Atlantic Starr was among the top urban contemporary acts of the ’80s and fared well in the adult contemporary market as well, but their roots were ’70s soul and funk. The East Coast outfit was formed in White Plains, NY, in 1976 by three brothers: lead singer/guitarist David Lewis, lead singer/keyboardist Wayne Lewis, and trombonist/percussionist Jonathan Lewis. After the Lewis Brothers hired lead singer Sharon Bryant, trumpeter William Sudderth, saxophonist Damon Rentie (who was replaced by Koran Daniels in 1981), bassist Clifford Archer, drummer Porter Carroll, Jr., and percussionist/flutist Joseph Phillips, Atlantic Starr’s original nine-person lineup was in place. Influenced by ’70s funk/soul bands like Earth, Wind & Fire, the Commodores, New Birth, and L.T.D., Atlantic Starr started playing around the northeastern U.S. They had only been together for about two years when they signed with A&M and started working with Bobby Eli, a well-respected producer/songwriter from Philadelphia. Produced by Eli in 1978, Atlantic Starr’s self-titled debut album wasn’t a mega-platinum blockbuster but did reasonably well and contained the funk hit “Stand Up” (which made it to number 16 on Billboard’s R&B singles chart).

Milton & Carter steadily gaining their artistry recognition as one of the most leading teams for creating fancy songwriting, and music production techniques. The two are well within their shifting gear mode, getting real deep, funky and experimental with all of their latest releases thus far. Their sound has been well respected, played by many worldwide, and vastly becoming a staple name in music. I’m Talking about funk, with the vocal sassiness of Carter, displaying sexy, brilliant lyrics that will shake the world with this groove. It’s guaranteed to make you move.

“Fly Away” the new hip-rocking single from Wil Milton & Rodney Carter. Motives for this song is to bring the fun back into music. This project is a follow-up to Wil & Rodney’s successor 2009 release “You Are Everywhere”. “Fly Away” will surely become a favorite. Keep in mind; this song is about loving unconditionally, running away with companionship, and having the freedom to love. “Fly Away” is taken from their forthcoming album, and will be released later this year.

House Music fans will love this song for its dance-ready made music ingredients, and will draw those not familiar to this crafty music. Wil’s production is simply outstanding, and Rodney’s vocals are clearly top notch.

"I'm Still Here" Wil Milton & Rodney Carter present Ricoh & Lauren‏

Title: “I’m Still Here”

Artist: Wil Milton Rodney Carter, Ricoh, Lauren
Publishers: Something Milton BMI/Soulice ASCAP
Label: Blak Ink Music Group
Cat #: BMG 023
Release Date: March 9, 2009
Written by Janice Mendez

A song so sentimental, inspirational, emotional, “I’m Still Here” by the collaborative works of vocalist Rodney Carter, Ricoh, and Lauren. The contents of this project consist of deep lyrics, which display true craftsmanship of songwriting. All voices set the tone, and provide listeners with a true emotional experience through its brilliance. This meaningful theme is all about looking within to find the other person that you love and miss so much. I swear up and down, this song deserves placement in a motion picture moving score. It’s dramatic crescendos; strip-down string sections will prove its emotional purpose, backed by piano counters that speak breathless expressions. “I’m Still Here “ produced by Wil Milton, will prove to the world with this tight production that you can have more melody substance, rather than rhythmic structures to successfully compose an influential dance track. Ricoh and Lauren complement each other so well in the verses, hooks with the ability to influence one to stillness. This harmonic choir of a chorus will find it’s way into the hearts of many. The tie-end to “I’m Still Here” occurs when Ricoh and Lauren introduce Rodney into the session, with his sentimental deliverance. What’s more, the overall recording has such a big sound. Then there is the Wil’s Solo’d Out Mix, with the vocal line I’m Still Here subsiding in an imaginative dreamy matter. The Track takes off, as the drums and bass builds into many dimensions of moods. Wil jams this session with his infamous Rhodes, vivacious synth lines, making this mix right This is a great song to have in your collection, a masterpiece in it’s making. The song stands amongst other songs, for it is written so perfect. This is a great song.

This man seems to be unstoppable this year, and continues to deliver to the world nothing but great songs. Wil Milton is rocking the top of this year so far. Keeping your eyes on him is a must, and with some serious future projects on the take-off. And now, a new single written and produced by the dude himself, entitled "Believe in You" is one of the most inspirational compositions written by Milton taken from his forthcoming album "Mental Photograph". In the world of change, good or bad, one has the courage and commitment to roll with times when estranged by the many challenges.

The main ingredient of this song comprises his signature sound with drums that don't hold back on the groove, and a funky bass line. To pretty all things up, background depth of swooping pad sounds spreading across the listening plane. Wil features singstress from the U.K Carlene Graham. She has worked with Jon Cutler, Bugz in The Attic, Reel People, Fanatix, and heads the vocal frontline on this project. Graham delivers magic on this track.

I Hi-Five this song for it's brilliance, and a very well put together production. Many will be able to understand the universal language spoken in "Believe in You".
